On 31st October 2025, Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s College of Commerce (MMCC) proudly organized the “Walk for Unity” Rally to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of the Iron Man of India — Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The event was a collaborative effort between the NSS Department, SDC Department, and the Deccan Police Station, uniting students, faculty, and law enforcement personnel in a powerful display of solidarity and national spirit.
🔹 Purpose and Significance
The rally aimed to celebrate Sardar Patel’s vision of a united India and to promote the values of peace, integrity, and oneness among students and the wider community.
Participants carried placards with the slogan “Walk for Unity”, spreading awareness and reinforcing the message of “Vyasnmukt Samaj, Swasthya Bharat” — a society free of division and full of health, unity, and purpose.
🔹 Strong Participation and Enthusiasm
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from:
- 200+ Police Personnel from Deccan Police Station
- 26 NSS and SDC Volunteers from MMCC
- 3 Faculty Members, including NSS and SDC coordinators
Their collective energy turned the rally into an inspiring display of discipline, teamwork, and civic engagement.
🔹 The Rally Route
The Walk for Unity commenced from Deccan Police Station, covering Prabhat Road – Law College Road – Nal Stop – Garware College – Prabhat Road, and concluded successfully back at the Deccan Police Station.
Each step taken symbolized a commitment to unity, cooperation, and shared national pride.
🔹 Collaboration and Support
The success of the rally was made possible through the valuable guidance and cooperation of:
- Mrs. Girishan Nimbalkar, Senior Police Inspector, Deccan Police Station
- Dr. Ganesh Patare, Principal, MMCC
- Prof. Amit Girigosavi and Prof. Shivani Mali, for their active participation and coordination
Their leadership and encouragement played a vital role in ensuring smooth execution and meaningful impact.

The Walk for Unity rally not only strengthened MMCC’s relationship with the community but also fostered a sense of social responsibility and civic pride among the students.
Through this initiative, the NSS and SDC departments successfully demonstrated how education extends beyond classrooms — nurturing values of awareness, inclusion, and active citizenship.
