The Department of Communication and Journalism at Marathwada Mitra Mandal's College of Commerce (MMCC) hosted an insightful workshop on 𝐋𝐆𝐁𝐓𝐐𝐈𝐀+ 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 on Friday, 22nd August 2025.
The session featured prominent LGBTQIA+ rights activist 𝐌𝐫. 𝐁𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐡𝐚𝐯 𝐊𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐞, who engaged students in a powerful conversation about the importance of awareness, sensitivity, and empathy—qualities that are vital for aspiring journalists.
He highlighted the critical role of the media in shaping public perception and fostering inclusivity. While acknowledging that the path to justice may be gradual, he expressed confidence that meaningful change is possible through democratic and constitutional efforts.
The workshop saw active student participation and meaningful dialogue throughout the session.
The event began with a welcome address by Principal Dr.Ganesh Patare., followed by Mr. santosh shenai, Head of Department, who introduced the theme and provided context for the session. Assistant Professor Dr Swapnil Kamble formally welcomed the guest team, while Ms. Neelambari Salunkhe anchored the program seamlessly and concluded it with a heartfelt vote of thanks.
