NSS Youth Festival: Guest Lecture Session

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is a celebratory day observed (starting in 2003) on 9 January by the Republic of India to mark the contribution of the Overseas Indian community towards the development of India. The day commemorates the return of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa to Mumbai on 9 January 1915.

NSS unit of Marathwada Mitra Mandal's College of Commerce and Department of Commerce organized the guest lecture session of Dr. Kumar Saptarshi, Chairman of Maharashtra Gandhi Smarak Nidhi  on the occasion. More than 70+ NSS volunteers attended the session by showing example of discipline & patience; the session had extended for 2 & 1/2 hours. Dr. Saptarshi sir in his audacious oratory style unfolded the various events in Mahatma Gandhi's life in meticulous details & same time, he tried to correlate it with current socio-political scenario. He shared his life experiences with the volunteers & engaged them throughout the session. He summarized that Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi became the Mahatma Gandhi as he always introspected himself in every situation, accepted the mistakes, and took care that he won't repeat them again. He guided the volunteers that one should imbibe in oneself such qualities so that he/she can evolve into good human being.

During the event, Prof. Sushil Gangane sir  and Prof. Pravin Kad sir checked and ensured the proper arrangement for the session. Prof. Tukaram Patil sir & Dr. Pramod Sapkal sir took care that discipline and order should be maintained in the hall. Dr. Punam Shinde  arranged all necessary equipment and accessories.
